The season of Mardi Gras lasts for two weeks, with the final week having the largest events. One of the events many know are the Mardi Gras parades with bright, colorful floats and vibrant costumes. Beads and trinkets are thrown at those watching the parade, you can go home with quite a fun collection of treasures! Mardi Gras is held in early March in 2014.
